Society Celebrates 40th Birthday
On Sunday March 19th 2023 the Mt Horrocks Historical Society celebrated its 40th Birthday in the pleasant surrounds of the John Horrocks Cottage in Penwortham South Australia.
A crowd of 30 people listened to President Wendy Spackman as she gave a brief history on the formation of the Society. The first meeting was held in the Uniting Church in Watervale of June 6th 1983.
The guest speaker Helen Perry from Clare Regional History Group presented and interesting talk on her work digitizing school records across the state.
A celebratory cake was then cut by descendants of Arthur Horrocks Pamela McTaggert and Ady Pearse.
